956,062. Clamps. NATIONAL SEWER PIPE Ltd. Jan. 8, 1963 [Jan. 19, 1962], No. 2045/62. Heading E2B. A pipe clamp comprises a band 6 secured at one end to a bracket 7 and at the other end to a bolt 8, the bracket having a recess 7a therein adapted to receive the bolt, and a nut 9 for the bolt adapted to engage the bracket 7 and tighten the band when the nut is screwed down, the bolt having a head 8a which is bendable under strain to indicate when sufficient tightening force has been applied to the band. As shown, in which a pair of clamps is used to couple two pipes 1, 1 together, the clamps are associated with a rubber band 2 having ridges 3, 4, through which the bands 6, 7 pass, one end of each band being threaded through a slot 7e in the bracket 7 and the other end through slots in the bolt head 8a.
