Abstract
953,972. Discharging from endless conveyers. R. F. LUKE (STRUCTURAL STEELWORK) Ltd. Jan. 28, 1963 [Jan. 27, 1962], No. 3208/62. Heading B8A. A discharge device for a scraper conveyer 1 comprises a shoot 2 spaced below and inclined from the free end of the conveyer 1 down to a receiving belt conveyer 13, and a plurality of inclined fingers 12 spaced across and extending down the shoot 2 from a transverse spring- supported round bar 11 on which the fingers are individually pivoted, to beyond the lower end of the shoot 2. The fingers 12 which are formed by flat bars set edgewise vertically, are spaced above a bottom plate 4 of the shoot 2 and preferably diverge from it at the lower end. A laminated leaf-spring 9 having an eye at its upper end to receive one end of the bar 11 is secured to the inside of each of two side-plates 3 of the shoot 2 by means of brackets 8. The shoot 2 is bolted to the frame of the conveyer 1 and incorporates a detachable nose portion 16. In a further embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), the round bar 11 passes through vertical slots in the side plates and is supported on coil springs.
