Abstract

Compositions comprise a blend of isotactic polypropylene with linear polyethylene having a weight ratio of polypropylene to polyethylene of 95:5 to 50:50, said polyethylene having a molecular weight above 1,500,000. Preferably the polyethylene has a molecular weight of 500,000 to 4,000,000. Example 1 describes the polymerization of propylene and ethylene in the presence of a titanium chloride-aluminium diethyl chloride catalyst and the mixing of the reaction products before deactivation of the catalyst with methanol.
