Abstract

The invention provides a seed germination medium in sheet form having upper (3) and lower (4) surfaces between which are disposed seeds (6) for one or more plant species, at least the said surfaces (3, 4) being formed from a material which is biodegradable, and the medium being sufficiently flexible and durable to be folded or formed into a roll without disintegrating. In a particular embodiment the invention provides a seed germination medium in elongate sheet form having upper (3) and lower (4) surfaces between which are disposed seeds (6) for one or more plant species, at least the said surfaces being formed from a material which is biodegradable, the medium being packaged in a folded form or in the form of a roll.
