941,901. Animal drinking devices. ETABLISSEMENTS GUSTIN FILS. Sept. 28, 1961 [Jan. 9, 1961], No. 34857/61. Heading A1M. [Also in Division F2] A drinking trough is filled when an animal pivots a lever 2, Fig. 1, on a spindle 3 thereby translating a ribbed member 9 which disengages the teat 10 of a diaphragm 11 from its seat 5a so enabling water to flow from a chamber 14b, open to a supply 15, through one or more calibrated apertures 12 in the diaphragm and around the member 9 into the trough. The member 9 is readily withdrawn when the lever 2 is lifted to the upper dotted line position 2b the trough being immediately cutoff from the supply. In another form, the diaphragm is replaced by a resilient member 11, Fig. 3, in the shape of a sphere, ovoid or other similar form.
