935,257. Hydraulic pit props. DOWTY MINING EQUIPMENT Ltd. Nov. 13, 1961 [Nov. 9, 1960], No. 38430/60. Class 20 (2). In an hydraulic pit prop comprising at least three telescopic portions 1, 5, 9, the intermediate portion 5 is provided with a partition 6 and a seal 7 separating two pressure chambers 18, 19 communicating through a check valve 17 and an auxiliary relief valve 24 in series with a main relief valve 4, the two valves 4, 24, being equated to ensure uniform yielding of the prop portions.
