Abstract

928,824. Typewriters &c. RUF-BUCKHALTUNG A.G. Feb. 6, 1961 [March 23, 1960], No. 4347/61. Class 100 (4). A printing line sensing device attachment for a typewriter or accounting machine comprises grooves K7, J7 in a rail 6 of a central wall of the feed shoot through which sheets J8, K8 are fed by feed wheels engaging perforations therein. Punches in blocks J14, K14 punch tabs in the sheets which are sensed by a hook J10 or K10 of a slider J8 or K8 to adjust the sheets to a predetermined line at the printing position. In order to ensure that the tabs are forced out of the sheet into a position in which the hooks 10 can engage therewith rockers J24, K24 are provided which have points J25, K25 urged by springs J27, K27 to engage the tabs of the sheets as they pass and force them out of its plane. The tabs then become engaged by the hooks 10 and pull the slider 8 down until it is arrested at the correct line in a manner not described. If a slider, as shown for J8, is pushed right down a ramp J11 engages a ridge J26 to force the rocker J24 to an inoperative position while the hook J10 enters a pocket J17 and is also rendered inoperative.
