Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the general formula <FORM:0921301/IV(a)/1> (wherein R1 represetns a bromine atom or a methoxy group and R2 a methyl group) and their acid addition salts, the preparation thereof by condensing a compound of the general formula <FORM:0921301/IV(a)/2> with a compound of the general formula <FORM:0921301/IV(a)/3> (wherein Hal represents a chlorine, bromine or iodine atom) and, if desired, salifying the resulting base with an inorganic or organic acid, and pharmaceutical preparations containing the products and an inert carrier. 3-Bromophenthiazine is prepared by condensing m - bromoaniline with potassium o-chlorobenzoate to form N-(3-bromophenyl)-anthranilic acid, decarboxylating this by heating to form N-(3-bromophenyl)-aniline, and heating this with sulphur and iodine. 2-(N-Methylpyrrolidyl-21)-1-chloroethane is prepared by the action of thionyl chloride on the corresponding 1-hydroxy compound in chloroform solution saturated with hydrochloric acid. The pharmaceutical preparations, which have neuroplegic and tranquillizing properties, may take the form of tablets or injectable solutions.
