Abstract

Decafluorocyclohexene is produced by heating undecafluorocyclohexane to a temperature in the range from about 700 DEG to 900 DEG C. The gaseous undecafluorocyclohexane may be passed through a heated tube made of inert material e.g. nickel, copper, a noble metal on a copper base or nickel base alloy. Examples are furnished.
