Abstract

Titanium-base alloys containing tin and aluminium are produced by melting together titanium sponge and a master alloy containing 30-70% of titanium, the remainder being aluminium and tin in the ratio 2 : 1 by weight. The final alloy may be made by pressing the constituent materials into electrodes, which are then arc-melted. A master alloy containing 40% Ti, 40% Al, and 20% Sn is referred to.
