Abstract
905,721. Stencilling-apparatus. ICHINOSE, H. Nov. 24, 1959 [May 26, 1959], No. 39873/59. Class 100 (2). In an automatic screen-printing machine wherein a web to be printed is fed intermittently on an endless band under a plurality of stencil frames, each frame is provided with squeegee mechanism comprising three squeegees supported for reciprocation over the frame, mounted so that on each stroke the leading blade is raised clear of the screen, while the remaining two blades are operative. The end blade 14 is mounted on a bracket 19 and is vertically adjustable thereon by rotating a nut 35a, being secured by a lock-nut 20a. The bracket 19 is secured to a grooved collar 18 by a lock-nut 21a and a part fitting a groove 22a in the collar. The collar is secured to a shaft 8a by a lock-nut 17a engaging a groove 41 in the shaft. The other end blade 15 is similarly mounted. The central blade 16 is mounted on a bracket 27 which is urged upwards by a leafspring 26, and terminates in a tapering portion 28 engaging sloping faces of adjusting screws 31, 32, whence by rotating the screws in the brackets 19, 25, the height of the blade 16 is adjustable. In operation, when the driving mechanism moves the shafts 8a, 8b to the right, the latter is raised to lift the blade 15 clear of the screen 13, the blade 16 being held down by the face 29 of the screw 31, and the blades 14, 16 forcing the colour through the screen. On the return stroke, the shaft 8a and the blade 14 are raised.
