Abstract

904,298. Combine-harvesters. CLAAS, G. May 10, 1961 [June 21, 1960], No. 17075/61. Class 6(3). The grain tank 11 of a combine-harvester is provided, in addition to the usual discharge auger 13, with means movable over the floor of the tank for facilitating the feeding of the contents to the auger, or for facilitating uniform distribution of the contents during filling. As shown, the means comprise an endless belt 19 running along the floor, the belt being cushioned, if desired, by an air blast from beneath to relieve the weight thereon. In Fig. 2, the auger runs in a trough 12 and feeds an external auger in a discharge duct 20. In Fig. 5, the belt 32 runs beneath the auger 33 and is estended obliquely upwardly in a run 35, a flap 38 preventing grain being carried over the uppermost roller 30. In modifications (not shown) swinging arms may sweep over the floor in place of the belt, the arms being hinged. A shaking conveyer may also be employed.
