Abstract

899,679. Making bed plates for rails; cutting by fusion. LEUNA-WERKE W. ULBRICHT VEB. March 9, 1959 [March 10, 1958], No. 8061/59.Classes 83 (2) and 83 (4). A profiled slot is cut in the ribs upstanding from a rail bed plate 5, by a profile guided flame cutting torch having an elongated nozzle 12, Fig. 4, and a radius not exceeding 2 mm. Slots to accommodate T-head bolts are cut in both ribs of a rail bed plate 5 which is clamped on a support plate 1 mounted on a shaft 6 rotatable in bearings 7 and lockable in two positions by a pin 9 engaging in one of two opposite notches in a disc 8. Locating stops 2, 3, Fig. 1 (not shown), are provided on the plate 1. The oxyacetylene torch comprises an elongated outer casing 12, Fig. 4, and an elongated inner tube 12a for the cutting oxygen. The torch is guided by an electromagnetic roller running on a template.
