Abstract
897,884. Controlling reactors. HUET, A. Sept. 11, 1958 [Sept. 24, 1957], No. 29144/58. Class 39(4). To control reactivity fuel rods are made to vibrate by subjecting coolant flowing through the reactor to pulsations which may be of variable amplitude and frequency. Several vibrations may be superimposed, e.g. ultrasonic vibrations produced by a piezo-electric transducer may be combined with vibrations of larger amplitude and very low frequency. Specification 857,675 is referred to.
