893,997. Ice-making. GRASSO'S KONINKLIJKE MACHINEFABRIEKEN N.V. Oct. 21, 1959 [Nov. 4, 1958], No. 35737/59. Class 29. In ice-making apparatus in which blocks are formed by accumulation on cores 5 mounted in a water tank 1, the cores are divided into groups and each group is mounted on the top wall of a common casing 10 which contains the refrigerant ducts 8, 9 and is mounted in water-tight fashion at one end on a side wall of the tank, the tank wall and the end of the casing having mating apertures for the ducts 8, 9. A heating duct 13 prevents ice-formation on the top wall of the casing 10. When released, the blocks 6 float to the surface and lie in one direction between parallel guides 17. A bar 21 on endless conveyers 19 carries the blocks to the left, Fig. 3, and pushes them up a pivoted ramp 22 so that any water in the bores left by the cores 5 drains back into the tank. To ensure that the blocks lie the right way round for this to occur, the cores 5 are slightly inclined towards the discharge end of the tank.
