890,970. Linear dimension gauges; pressure gauges. PRECISION MECANIQUE LABINAL. July 8, 1959 [July 16, 1958], No. 23509/59. Class 106 (2). A differential pressure gauge has a pair of deformable and connected diaphragms 9, 10 mounted in a narrow housing 28, and an optical system including a mirror 20 moved in accordance with movement of the diaphragms and arranged to deflect a light beam projecting a luminous spot on to a screen. In a pneumatic gauging unit in which air is supplied to two gauge heads 3, 5, the back pressures set up behind the heads 3, 5 are conducted to chambers 6, 7 separated by the double diaphragm unit 9, 10. Movement of this unit turns a lever 15 and thus a shaft 14. Pivotal movement of the shaft 14, which lies in the space between the diaphragms, acts on a mirror 20, hinged to rotate about a shaft perpendicular to the plane of the diaphragm unit, and thus deflects a light beam, the resulting movements of which are read from a scale extending parallel to the shaft 14. Thus the apparatus is kept within a narrow space and several such indicators may be set up alongside one another.
