Class 29 In order to engender even diffusion of low temperature over substantially the whole of the interior volume of a refrigerator cabinet 1, it is provided on one of its upstanding walls with a plate-form cooling element 26 covered by a perforated or grid-like wall 30. The cooling element 26 may be in the form of a worm mounted on a carrier panel 27 provided in a recess 21 on the rear inside wall of the cabinet 1 and connected to the evaporator 25 associated with the upper freezing compartment 5. The wall 30 may be formed from a U-shaped sheet of expanded metal the two sides of which are hooked to pins 30<SP>1</SP> on the side walls of the recess 21.
