Abstract

885,116. Resilient mountings. SILENTBLOC Ltd. May 7, 1958 [May 20, 1957], No. 15947/57. Addition to 813, 639. Class 108(3). The resilient mounting of the parent Specification is improved by the provision of a hollow spherical resilient body 15, Fig. 2, between mounting studs 10. Holes 16, 17 relieve air pressure within the resilient body. In an alternative construction the studs 10 are interconnected by four resilient arms 22, Fig. 3. The characteristics of the mounting may be varied by enclosing within the arms 22 a solid ball of material having damping properties of the frictional, air, hysteresis or viscous type, e.g. felt or sponge rubber.
