Abstract

884,331. Diapers. GIBBO, E., LINCOLN, N. D., and SEPKOSKI, J. J. May 27, 1960 [May 27, 1959], No. 18914/60. Class 141 [Also in Group VIII] A diaper pad comprises a flexible absorbent layer 11 of woodpulp fibres covered on opposite sides by thin permeable sheets 12, 13 of tissue paper or an intermittently bonded non-woven fabric, the assembly being embossed along spaced wavy lines 17. The layer 11 is compressed in a direction normal to its plane so that its thickness is between 25 and 100 mils and it has a bulk density of between 25 and 50 grains per cubic inch. The pad may be covered with a backing 15 of polyethylene or vinyl film and a strong facing sheet 16 of a non-woven material. Specifications 468,529 and 794,500 are referred to.
