883,962. Suction boxes of paper-making machines. LOVEDAY, H. W., and WHITTAKER, J. D. May 30, 1960 [May 29, 1959], No. 18311/59. Class 96. Rollers which support the wire-cloth of a paper-making machine as it travels over a suction box B are formed with hollow shafts A with openings a through which water from a supply pipe b and a header C passes to lubricate bearings d of the shells D of the rollers. The shells may be recessed to receive the bearing material, and may be in sections separated by spacers D<SP>1</SP>. The sections of successive rolls may be staggered or in alignment.
