Abstract

881,626. Piezo - electric instruments. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Sept. 23, 1959 [Sept. 26, 1958], No. 32394/59. Class 40 (4). In a piezo-electric frame-shaped transducer 1 for use in liquids, the outer sides of the two limbs 2 and 3 of the frame carry electrodes 4 and 5 which are electrically connected to each other and to an earthed terminal 6 of an ultrasonic supply generator 7, whereas the electrodes 8 and 9 inside the two limbs are connected to the other terminal 12 of the generator 7 and are enclosed in a liquid-tight manner by the closure of the openings on either side of the frame 1 by means of an electrically-insulating elastic material 10. A similar construction may be applied to a multiple-frame transducer with an even number of limbs, Fig. 2 (not shown).
