Abstract
879,971. Cabinet doors; mirrors. DOWNHAM, S. J., and DOWNHAM, J. July 27, 1960 [July 28, 1959], No. 25929/59. Classes 52(1), 52(3) and 52(4). A cabinet door 19 may have a mirror 31 mounted on the front and has a cylindrical projection 21 on the rear which fits into and is held in an aperture 15 by bolts 25, 26 projecting behind the carrier 14 which is fixed to the cabinet and acts as a bearing for the rotational opening of the door. The bolt handles 27 are turned over to lie in the holes 30 in the door: finger handles may be let into the rear of the door to operate the handles from the rear. Shelves 34, 35 are supported by grooves 36, 37 and thickened portions 38 of the converging partitions 17, 18. The carrier 14 may be fixed to a wall instead of forming part of a cabinet so that a mirror may be mounted on the wall and used with its longer dimension either horizontal or vertical: the mounting for the carrier may be such as to allow the mirror to be tilted in the vertical position.
