[Also in Group XXIII] A valve for controlling the flow of solvent from compartment 1 and water from compartment 2 via pump 7 to spray nozzles 10 is automatically actuated by the flow of liquid. When the pump is started, the valve plug 51 is in the position shown in Fig. 2, inlet 3<SP>1</SP> being open and inlet 4<SP>1</SP> closed. The flow of solvent from inlet 31 acts upon baffle 52 of valve plug 51 and rotates it against the action of spring 53, closing inlet 3<SP>1</SP> and opening inlet 4<SP>1</SP>. The proportions of baffle 52 and the strength of spring 53 may be so balanced as to achieve a combined flow of solvent and water.
