865,757. Brushes. HALLSTROM, O. H. Feb. 3, 1960, No. 3816/60. Class 19. [Also in Group XXVIII] A suction brush suitable for cleaning exposed curved surfaces e.g. the exterior of a pipe 9, Fig. 1, running along or near a ceiling comprises a chain of longitudinal open ended channel shaped links 7 hinged together at 8 and having brush bristles 10 secured to their longitudinal sides and projecting beyond their free edges ; the open sides of links not contacting the said surface being closed by a longitudinally displaceable tube 4 telescoping over a tube 2 connecting the links with a vacuum pipe 1. The bristles 10 of each link 7 stop short of the ends and the space between the bristles of adjacent links is blanked off by rubber strips 11 bolted to brackets 12.
