Abstract
865,233. Invalids' trays, tables or bed cradles, leg or bed rests. DAVIDSON, P. B. April 6, 1959 [April 22, 1958], No. 12677/58. Classes 52(2) and 52(3). A bed table or cradle has a rectangular top frame 2, 4 and hinged foldable side frames 8 provided with adjustable extensions 12. A flap 14 is hinged to frame member 2 so as to be movable between a horizontal position in which it forms a continuation of shelf 16 and a position, as shown, in which it is supported by strut 15 and can be used as a book rest. A stainless steel or chromium plated mirror (Fig. 6, not shown) may be hinged from the upper edge of flap 14 and rest against rib 23 when required. The extensions 12 are adjustable by wing nuts 13 to a folded position parallel to tie rods 10. Other uses of the table are as a leg or foot rest (Figs. 7 and 8, not shown) and as a bed rest (Fig. 5, not shown). Reference is made to a tubular metal construction having telescopic legs.
