Abstract

857,685. Bed settees. FRASER, J. A., BROWN, S. F., and PRICE, B. H. March 25, 1959 [June 9, 1958], No. 18356/58. Class 52(2) In a bed settee with seat A and back B and arm rests C, D detachably mounted on seat part A the arm rests may be coupled to the parts A, B to extend them to form either a double bed or two single beds. Parts A, B each comprise a rigid frame I carrying wire links 2 and tension springs 3, part B being mounted on part A in the settee positions by flanges 22 engaging behind pins 23 on part A and the extremity 24 engaging a part 25 on part A, Fig. 6. Arm rests C, D each consist of a panel 13 with flange 14 and are coupled to parts A, B by hooks 16 engaging eyes 17 on the frames of A, B while in the settee position tapered tongues 18, 19 engage sockets 20, 21 on frame A.
