Abstract

855,864. Preventing corrosion. SCHMIDT' SCHE HEISSDAMPF-G.m.b.H. Sept. 23, 1959 [Oct. 24, 1958], No. 32348/59. Class 51 (1). Corrosion of the heating surfaces of a waste heat boiler 4 while it is out of use is prevented by passing hot air used for cooling the rabble arm shaft 1 of a multiple hearth furnace for roasting sulphitic ores through the waste heat boiler 4 which is normally heated by the effluent gases from the furnace. The boiler is also kept hot so that it can quickly be returned to use.
