Abstract

848,123. Hand levers. BRUTON ENGINEERING CO. Ltd., and BURGESS, B. L. Dec. 2, 1958 [Dec. 2, 1957], No. 37517/57. Class 80 (3). A foldable stowable hand lever comprises a hand grip 21 pivoted at 17 to a crank 13 which is pivoted at 15 on a pin slidable along grooves 12 in a hollow guide 11 secured to a shaft or drum. In the operative position (shown) a rod 19 in the hand grip engages a recess 22 in the crank to hold the hand grip in position, and the rod 19 may be moved axially by screw means 20, or against the action of a spring, to allow the hand grip to be aligned with the crank which may then be aligned with its axis of rotation and stowed by sliding it into its guide 11. A rotatable sleeve may surround the hand grip.
