[Also in Group XXXIII] A hull for watercraft (see Group XXXIII) comprises a core moulded from an expanded synthetic organic plastic material exhibiting a multiplicity of closed non-intercommunicating cells (e.g. expanded polyvinyl chloride), one or more surfaces of which are covered with a stressed skin (e.g. of nylon or glass fibre fabric, or metal gauze or mixtures thereof) secured thereto and adapted to strengthen the core, and one or more buoyancy members of expanded synthetic organic plastic material (e.g. polystyrene), also exhibiting a multiplicity of closed non-intercommunicating cells, secured to the inside walls of the hull whereby said members also act as structural or reinforcing members.
