Abstract

842,795. Filter presses. PROGRESS ENGINEERS Ltd. March 20, 1959 [April 17, 1958], No. 12183/58. Class 46. A filter press tray is provided on each face with grooves or a like configuration, e.g. as shown in Specifications or 795,167, 820,668 by which liquid can pass to the periphery of the tray where there is a surrounding frame 10. A drainage groove 14, 15 is provided on each face close to the frame, the groove 14 being nearer the edge than the groove 15. Oblique holes 16 are provided to allow escape of the liquid to drainage holes 17. The drainage grooves preferably extend all round the periphery and the plate preferably tapers from the drainage grooves to the normal thickness 13 as shown at 13a to provide added strength to the tray.
