Abstract
839,273. Transformers; selsyn machines. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. May 6,1958 [May 27, 1957], No. 14479/58. Drawings to Specification. Classes 35 and 38 (2). Selected harmonics are cancelled in the windings of a synchro or like device by proportioning the number of turns in individual coils of the winding. Formulae are given in relation to the fifth and seventh order harmonics in a nine slot winding having coils of three and four slot pitch. The third and ninth order harmonics are eliminated by arranging the stator windings in 3-phase star connection and all those of even order by making the two-pole salient rotor bi-symmetrical. An alternative method of finding the required proportion of turns is given, Fig. 3 (not shown), consisting of plotting experimental results on a graph. Specification 671,632 is referred to.
