Classes 79(2), 79(3) and 79(5) The driving arrangement for a pump in a trolley bus claimed in the parent Specification is modified so that the transmission effects the drive of the pump 8 through a step-up gear 5. The pump supplies oil under pressure to a hydraulic steering gear 3 and is connected to the traction motor 4 through a dynamo 6, a freewheel 7 and the gear 5. When the dynamo reaches a predetermined speed a coil 14 closes a switch 12 so that a battery 10 is charged through a second coil 15 which helps to keep the switch closed. During switching over manoeuvres and at very low speeds, a switch 13 is closed by the driver so that the dynamo 6 runs as a motor from the battery 10 and drives the pump 8.
