Abstract
828,590. Bed-settees. VAISSIER, J. May 19, 1958 [May 24, 1957; March 28, 1958], No. 15932/58. Class 52(2) In a bed-settee having a mattress 4 made up with the bed-clothes, a bedspread 7 is attached along one edge to the front of the bed-settee at 15 and at its opposite edge to a member adapted to be swung underneath the settee, the bedspread being removed during this swing- ing. As shown in Figs, 2 and 3, the bedspread 7 is attached by way of springs 14 or a resilient lacing to a back rest 10 carried by arms 9 pivoted at 11 to the settee ends, the rest 10 swinging from the position of Fig. 2 to that of Fig. 3, where it can be held by a catch 18. As shown in Fig. 5, the back rest 10 is adapted to be swung back to form an extension of the bed and the bed-spread is attached to the upper end of a frame 20 which can receive the back rest or be swung forward. The bed-spread in this form, also covers the back rest. The back rest or frame 20 may be hinged to the arms 9 instead of being fixed thereto. The pivots 11 may be spring- loaded.
