Abstract

821,116. Automatic control systems. SOC. D' EXPLOITATION DES MATERIELS HISPANO-SUIZA. March 15, 1957 [March 17, 1956], No. 8669/57. Class 38 (4). In a turbo-jet regulating system in which the fuel valve is controlled by that of two parameters, one of which is engine speed, the value of which is most alarming, a further signal from an accelerometric device is applied to the system in order that positive acceleration tends to reduce the flow of fuel. Fuel valve 15, Fig. 1, is controlled either by tachometer alternator 6 or thermocouple 7 through differential circuits 10, 11 to which reference voltages determined by lever 5 are supplied and selector switch 13 which is controlled by the output of comparator 12 to apply speed error or temperature error signals to servo amplifier 17. A speed derivative obtained across a condenser 107, Fig. 7, of unit 100 is modified according to pressure at the intake of the compressor by a bellows operated potentiometer wiper 109 to provide altitude correction. This reinforces the valve closing derivative which is then applied to the servoamplifier and at the same time weakens a second derivative feed to the comparator 12. The signal to the comparator is sufficient to hold the regulator on speed control during acceleration.
