Abstract
813,149. Wash basins &c. FINCH & CO. Ltd., B., and OTTREY, J. A. Jan. 24, 1958 [Jan. 28, 1957], No. 3010/57. Class 26. A wash hand basin 11 or like plumbing fixture has an outlet orifice 12 and a low weir 17 at or near the bottom 18 of the basin to restrict or retard the flow of the last portion of water in the basin towards the orifice 12 when the basin is drained, the weir having at least one narrow gap 19, hole or slot through which the last portion of water can drain. The weir 17, of triangular section generally, may be annular and concentric with the orifice 12, and integral with a flanged top 14 of a waste fitting 13 fitted into the orifice 12 ; or integral with the floor of the basin around it. There may be one or more weirs, the or each one extending partly or completely across the basin at or near the bottom thereof. Into the fitting 13 an overflow outlet 15 leads through a slot 22, a grid 16 being between the slot and the flanged top 14, below which a removable plug of soft plastic is fitted into a portion 23.
