Abstract

809,196. Spindles, tube mounting means. ALGEMENE KUNSTZIJDE. UNIE N.V. Oct. 20, 1955 [Nov. 8, 1954; April 6, 1955], No. 30037/55. Classes 120(2) and 120(3) A twisting spindle having a member near the spindle drive for centring a tube on the spindle has said member 19 rigidly connected to the spindle 1 and provided with an annular groove 16 in which there is a resilient rubber ring 17 for holding the tube 12 placed on the spindle, the diameter of the ring being normally smaller than that of the centring member, and is characterized in that the centring member 19 is provided with a number of cavities 6 communicating with the annular groove 16, means being so placed in these cavities and within the rubber ring that they can freely move in a radial direction under the influence of centrifugal force to expand the rubber ring till it projects at least outside of the centring member but permits a free contraction of the rubber ring when the spindle is stationary. As shown the means for expanding the ring consist of swinging arms 23 having supplementary weights 26 at the lower ends.. Additional centring means of the same or conventional form may also be provided at the top of the spindle.
