803,843. Inspecting fabrics. LINDAUERDORNIER G.m.b.H. Jan. 21, 1957 [Feb. 27, 1956], No. 2141/57. Class 42 (2). Apparatus for the visual inspection of travelling fabrics in which video cameras 10 transmit a picture of the fabric 1 to screens 16 comprises a wholly or partly transparent body 5 around which the fabric passes and within which the cameras are arranged to point radially outwards and to rotate with the body. The body 5, which may be opaque with a transparent strip or window 6, may either be driven by the fabric or by independent means. Lamps 11 are provided in the interior of the body and electrical connections between cameras and screens are made by slip-rings and sliding contacts. The transparent part of the body may be provided with grid lines parallel to its axis to compare with the weft.
