Abstract

801,062. Transmission circuits. RANK CINTEL, Ltd. Oct. 19, 1956 [Oct. 19, 1955], No. 29838/55. Class 40 (4). A switch which connects either of two coaxial transmission lines 3 or 4 to a matching resistance 5 so that signals from a source 1 or a source 2 are applied to a load 6, comprises make-beforebreak contacts 8, 8A and 9, 9A of a relay 7 which connect the line circuit out of use to a further matching impedance 10. The resistors both have a value equal to the modulus of the characteristic impedance of the two lines, and during changeover operation of the switch are connected in parallel to both the lines by the make-before-break contacts 8A, 9A so that abrupt change in signal level is prevented.
