793,233. Lathe details. HAHN, O., and HAHN, E., [trading as INDEX-WERKE KOMM.-GES., HAHN & TESSKY]. Jan. 17, 1955 [March 20, 1954], No. 1441/55. Class 83 (3). An automatic turret-lathe has a tool-slide fed by a push-rod which remains on the lathe when the tool-slide is removed, a tappet, forming part of the tool-slide unit, being adapted to contact the push-rod, which is moved by cam-means. The front spindlebearing C, Fig. 2, is provided with two V-grooves 27, 28, into which tool-holders such as F may be clamped (with limited longitudinal adjustment), by bolts 29. Tappets 23, 24 extend upwards into holes in the headstock and these are actuated by cams 13, 14, Fig. 3, on a camshaft 12 operating through levers 21, 22, Fig. 2, respectively. Racks 48 extend downwardly from the tool-holders to engage the tappets, and helical-teeth on the racks engage pinions 49, Fig. 3, in the tool-holders. The pinions engage further racks on the inclined toolcarrying slides 50 to feed the tools 57, against the action of return springs 52.
