Abstract

788,762. Walls. KIRCHNER, F. Oct. 25, 1955 [Nov. 20, 1954], No. 30501/55. Class 20(4) A wall sheathing for a concrete-cored wall using structural panels as lost formwork, has the panels 4 of one sheathing wall 1 staggered in height and laterally from the panels 4 of the opposite sheathing wall 2, the two walls being connected by mutually independent spacers 7 which loosely embrace with one end the edge 5 of a panel 4 of one wall 1 or 2 and pierce with the other end through the opposite panel 4 of the other wall 2 or 1, the spacer ends 12 piercing the walls then being bent over to hold the panels ready for concrete pouring. As shown, each spacer 7 has crosspieces 8, 9 spaced from the ends and a longer cross-piece 10 at one end, the crosspieces 9, 10 being loosely positioned over an edge 5 and the end 12 being passed through a hole in the opposite panel 4 till the panel rests against the stop 8, when the end 12 is bent over, preferably with a washer 11 intervening. The lowermost panel 3 of the inner wall is of less height, either ¢, <SP>1</SP>/ 3 or “ of the panels 4 and the lowest panels are positioned by a spacer 6 with the cross-pieces 8, 9 10 either bent up or broken off below the wire. The concrete is introduced from the inside between the panels 3 and 4 and after each pair of panels 4 is added, the outer wall being therefore the higher at each stage. Wooden uprights 13 may be inserted and the space between them filled with, higher strength concrete to form columns, the uprights being then removed and the space between filled with lower grade concrete.
