Abstract

786,711. Punching; stamping. UNION SALES (TOOLS), Ltd. April 4, 1956, No. 10234/56. Class 83 (4). A press tool for cutting out blanks from sheet metal comprises a base 1, a metal female dieplate 2, a metal male die-plate 19 secured to a support 3 and dowels 8 serving to locate the support 3 and the female die-plate 2 relatively to the base 1 whilst permitting movement thereof towards or away from the base 1. The dowels 8 may be secured either to the base 1 or the support 3. The cutting edges of the dieplates 2 and 19 are bevelled to prevent binding. Punching elements 12 may be secured to the base and co-operate with apertures 20 in the male die-plate. Forming dies 13 may be provided on the base 1 and the male die-plate 19. A blade 26 on the male die-plate 19 slits the waste portion of the workpiece to facilitate removal, and the blank is ejected by means of a tool 30, Fig. 6, having projections 31 arranged to be passed through apertures 32 in the base 1, when the press tool is removed from the press.
