Abstract
786,658. Cleaning windows: hand-tool handles. BEER, A., CHISHOLM, C. W. P., and CHISHOLM, K. V. Aug. 23, 1955 [April 13, 1955], No. 10572/55. Classes 61 and 138(1). A window cleaning device which enables the exterior surface of a window to be cleaned from within a building, includes a U-shaped tube A, Fig. 1, having one end bent at N to serve as a handle and the other end carrying a plate J by means of bolts and nuts G and Q. The plate has three holes H adjacent its lower edge whereby the plate may be secured in the position shown in Fig. 2, or in an inclined position to one or other side of the vertical. Secured to the plate by bolts and nuts F is a carrier B having a fixed leaf O and hinge leaves S. A wooden or rubber block C on which is folded a cleaning cloth D, is secured in the carrier by a bolt L and nut E. If desired the plate J may be dispensed with and the carrier bolted directly on to the tube A at its end or in the position shown in dotted lines.
