Abstract

A pesticidal composition consists essentially of an intimate mixture of a particulate copper chelate of a b -diketone having the general formula <FORM:0786411/VI/1> wherein R represents an alkyl group and R1 represents an alkyl group or an alkoxy group, and a minor proportion of an organic deflocculating agent sufficient to give a suspensibility of at least 25 per cent in the suspensibility test described in the Specification. Preferably R represents methyl and R1 an alkyl group, the total sum of the carbon atoms in both groups being from 2 to 5. Specified active ingredients are the cupric chelates of 2 : 4-pentanedione, or 2 : 4-hexanedione, ethyl acetoacetate, 6-methyl-5-heptene-2 : 4-dione and of 6-methyl-2 : 4-heptanedione. The deflocculating agent may be a non-ionic emulsifying agent. A wetting agent may also be incorporated in the composition.
