Class 81(2) Portable apparatus for treating patients with ultra-violet rays or radiant heat comprises a platform 1, Figs. 1, 2, on which the patient stands and which is rotated through reduction gearing from an electric motor housed in a box 4, and horizontal arms 9, 10 supporting a discharge tube 16 disposed at the focus of a reflector 12. If desired, two discharge tubes arranged side by side are employed, one emitting ultra-violet rays and the other radiant heat. The switch-gear for the tubes and the control of the platform motor may be operated by coin-freed mechanism.
