770,709. Compressed-air engines; valve gear. CHICAGO PNEUMATIC TOOL CO. Feb. 18, 1955 [March 2, 1954], No. 4916/55. Classes 122 (2) and 122 (3). [Also in Groups XXVIII, XXIX and XXX] A reciprocating pump for supplying pressure liquid to a jack or other tool comprises a pump 20 actuated by a pneumatic motor 21 and drawing liquid from a reservoir 119; all these parts may be mounted on a carriage. The pump piston 31 is attached to a motor piston 101 which moves the pump piston on its delivery stroke, the return stroke being effected by a spring 33. An auxiliary valve 98 is carried by the piston 101 and controls the release of pressure through ports 94 or 97, which are connected to the chambers 87 at the ends of a main distributing valve 67, and thus the movement of the main valve 67 to connect the motor cylinder to pressure air or exhaust. The motor is fitted with a regulating valve 49 and also a safety valve. When the regulating valve is opened, air is supplied to passage 62 which is connected to the distributing portion of the valve 67 and also to the chambers 87 and also through pipe 129 to the reservoir 119 to act on the surface of the liquid. The pump draws liquid through the filter 141 and inlet valve 134 and delivers it to a hose connected to the jack &c.
