770,554. Putty smoothing tools. ARMSTRONG, R. J. F. Sept. 16, 1954 [Oct. 1, 1953], No. 26891/54. Class 61 A tool for applying putty to window frames comprises a single outwardly curved bevelled face 3 in the shape of a segment of a right circular cone and a handle 1 extending substantially radially with respect thereto. The face 3 has parallel top and bottom edges 4, 5 respectively and downwardly bevelled edges 9, 10 at opposite ends, the portion of the handle immediately behind the edge 5 of the bevelled face 3 being cut away to form an arcuate channel 8. The bottom surface of the handle 1 is hollowed out, the surface 7 of the hollowed out part being in the same plane as the edge 5 of the face 3. The edges 4, 5 are formed as knife edges for cutting away excess putty. The sum of the angles between the edges 9, 10 and the tangents drawn to the ends of the top curved edge 4 of the face 3 is 90 degrees.
