Class 20(2) Lagging means for mines connected by a tongue 1 and a fork 2 and pivoted together by a pin 3 are locked in various relative angular positions by a straight or a, as shown, curved locking member 12 slidable in the fork 2 and having an oblique rib 13, adapted to engage the tongue 1. The oblique rib 13 engages between ribs on the tongue 1. Heads 15, Fig. 7, at both ends, one of which is detachable prevents the locking member being removed and locking rings 16, the upper of which automatically assumes its operative position in engagement with a recess 17 prevents the rib 13 disengaging from the tongue 1. In a further modification the stops comprise pins sliding in bores. In a further modification, Fig. 7 (not shown) a projection on the tongue 1 engages between two ribs 13 on the locking member. In a further modification the rib 13, Fig. 8 (not shown) is of greater slope and is driven in by a transverse wedge passing through one of a number of slats in the locking member and engaging projections on the fork 2. The locking member, Figs. 10, 11 (not shown) is straight and has two oblique ribs, one at each end with a space between, and a spring catch holds it in middle position. The locking member, Fig. 12 (not shown) has two ribs at each end.
