761,917. Transformers. KABUSHIKI KAISHA, HITACHI SEISAKUSHO HITACHI, Ltd. June 8, 1954, No. 16858/54. Class 38 (2). In an electric transformer which comprises a number of axially disposed disc-like coils the electrostatic stresses are distributed throughout the winding by the provision of metallic members 9, 10, 11, 12 placed between adjacent turns (such as 1, 2) of the disclike coils, the metallic members being either connected together or to a turn in an adjacent disc coil. Each disc coil may have more than one metallic member disposed between succeeding adjacent turns, these members being connected together in pairs in different coils, all together in a single coil and to a turn in another coil and to the high-tension terminal 13 as desired. Alternatively the metallic members may be provided in alternate disc coils only.
