760,969. Adding filter aid to filters. SEITZWERKE GES. Feb. 25, 1954 [Feb. 26, 1953], No. 5543/54. Class 46. [Also in Groups II and XXVIII] An apparatus for the admixture of a filter aid into a main pipe line 15, including a storage tank 10 containing a filter aid suspension, has a secondary pipe line 17, branching from the main pipe line and provided with an adjusting member 18 adapted to regulate the quantity of filter and to be added to the main pipe line. The pipe 17 discharges into the tank above an outlet 21 and produces eddy currents in the tank, for example by being curved at 19 to conform to the wall of the tank. The filter aid mixture returns to the pipe line at 21.
