Abstract

759,060. Magazines. BREVETS AERO-MECANIQUES SOC. ANON. Jan. 10, 1955 [Jan. 18, 1954], No. 1454/54. Class 92 A magazine for an ammu. nition belt 5 comprises a box 1 divided into open-topped cells by vertical separators 3 over which the belt is festooned to hang in deep loops, the magazine being designed for the belt to be withdrawn laterally first from the cell remote from the gun and then from the remaining cells in succession. Further, the head of each separator has means, such as a tooth 10, for positively engaging the belt, and also means, such as a sickle-shaped arm 11, which extend between two rounds 4 of ammunition as shown so that the rounds are guided from the separator head and are supported until the feed tension of the belt has taken the weight of the succeeding loop. Fig. 6 illustrates how the rounds are thus guided and supported. In the construction shown the separators are in the form of pairs of ribs arranged on opposite walls of the box 1. Four of the separators are constructed as described above, but the one nearest the gun 2 and disposed beneath a guide roller 6 has no guide 11.
